    Mandate: February 2021 – February 2025

    Mr Halil Lagumdžija was born in 1960 in the town of Rudo. He graduated from the Sarajevo Faculty of Law in 1985. 

    He was employed as a lawyer in the company Poliester Priboj – Serbia in 1986. Between March 1994 and October 1995, he held the offices of vice-president and president of the Executive Board of the Gorazde District. 

    Mr Lagumdžija was appointed to the position of judge of the Gorazde District Military Court on 17 October 1995, and held the office until the establishment of the Cantonal Court in Gorazde on 4 September 1996, where he then worked as a judge until 30 June 2010. He was the president of the court between October 2001 and June 2003. 

    Mr Lagumdžija was appointed as a judge of the Court of BiH on 27 May 2010, and assumed office on 1 July 2010.

    The judges of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina elected him as a member of the HJPC BiH.

    At the HJPC BiH session held on 10 February 2021, Mr Lagumdžija was elected president of the Council to a four-year mandate.
